πΏ Introduction
Caring for your PlantPico terrarium is simple, but a few good habits will keep your plants thriving. This guide covers the universal essentials that apply to all our terrariums, plus links to model-specific tips.
π§ Watering
Only water when the top layer looks dry β usually 1β2 times per week.
Use a spray bottle or a small drip of water β avoid flooding the soil.
If leaves turn yellow or glass fogs heavily, it may be a sign of overwatering.
π For detailed instructions, explore our Terrariums Care Tips to find care guides for each model.
βοΈ Light
Place your terrarium in bright, indirect sunlight or under a soft desk lamp.
Avoid harsh direct rays, which can burn delicate plants.
If your terrarium came with a lamp, you can safely use it for about 8 hours per day.
π« Do not keep the terrarium under light 24/7 β plants need a period of darkness to breathe and stay healthy.
π‘οΈ Temperature & Placement
Keep indoors at 18β26Β°C (65β78Β°F).
Avoid placing near heaters, air conditioners, or drafty windows.
Do not place your terrarium outdoors.
π§Ή Cleaning & Upkeep
Wipe the glass gently with a soft, dry cloth to remove smudges or condensation.
Remove any dropped or yellowing leaves to keep the environment fresh.
If you notice excess moisture or fog inside, reduce watering and place the terrarium in a spot with better airflow.
β Troubleshooting
βMy plants look weak after arrival. Are they dying?β
β They may just be adjusting from shipping. Keep them in indirect light, mist lightly, and most will bounce back within a few days.
βWhat if my terrarium develops mold?β
β Reduce watering and increase airflow. Wipe the glass gently with a soft cloth, and try to carefully clean any visible mold from plants or soil.
βLeaves are dropping β is this normal?β
β Yes, plants sometimes shed older leaves. Simply remove them during cleaning.
βCan I use fertilizer?β
β Not necessary at first. After 2β3 months, a tiny amount of diluted liquid fertilizer can help, but always use sparingly.
